Indoor skydiving

• After checking in you will attend an instruction class on skydiving techniques and a short video briefing to teach you some skills
• Then it's off to the kit up area to collect your flight gear, including flight suit, helmet, earplugs and goggles. You, your friend and the rest of your group will then enter the tunnel area for your sky diving experience, which will include the following:
  • One separate flight each of around 1 minute 15 seconds - this will enable you to fly around the chamber and practice your skills being guided by your professional instructor
  • Two further flights of around 1 minute 15 seconds - during these you will get the unique chance to fly in the tunnel together with your friend, and your instructors of course
  • This is really is the complete package, as you will also receive a free high quality DVD, which features your flights so you can impress your friends and relive your experience again and again. The DVD also features the interesting history of the tunnel as well as some amazing expert flying from the professionals. Perhaps you'll be inspired to try out some of their moves on your next visit

The jump

• And if that wasn’t enough excitement for one day, you will then take the leap of your life! After being briefed by an instructor, you and your friend will be provided with your kit including a helmet and safety harness
• You will then proceed via a lift to the motor room at the top of the tower. Jumpers will then climb a ladder to the roof of the 120ft wind tunnel where they can enjoy the beautiful views over the Bedford valley, all the while securely attached to a safety rail via a body harness
• You will then be escorted to the jump platform before, one by one, you make your way to the platform edge. The instructor securely fastens their harness to the cable and then ...3...2...1...JUMP!
• A state of the art Fan Descender controls your fall and slows you down, allowing you to gently land on your feet at the bottom

Experience details

• This is a single gift experience voucher for two people
• Location: Bedfordshire
• This activity takes place all year round and is available on certain days from Wednesday to Sunday at selected times
• Please allow approximately three hours on site for the whole experience
• You will receive a full colour information pack and a voucher valid for nine months. You must book and take your experience before the voucher expiry dat. Kindly note that vouchers may not be extended
• To book a date for the experience, simply follow the booking instructions detailed in the information pack or on the gift voucher
• It is recommended that you book a date at least four to six weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available before the expiry date of the voucher. This is only a guideline and it is advised that you book as early as possible to avoid disappointment as vouchers may not be extended. All bookings are subject to availability

Essential information

• You will be provided with all the necessary safety equipment for the experience. This includes flight suits, helmets, goggles, earplugs, knee pads and elbow pads for the indoor skydiving and body harness and helmet for the jump
• You will need to wear casual and comfortable clothing. No collars. You will need to wear trainers; no other form of footwear is permitted
• Refreshments are available to purchase on site
• Spectators are welcome and there is a free viewing gallery for them and they will be escorted to the landing area at the bottom of the tower where they can get the best view of their friends jump
• The Jump element of the experience may be affected by weather conditions. You can jump in the rain however electrical storms and high wind speeds will prevent the activity taking place. Once you have booked your experience, you will be provided with a number to call on the morning of your experience to check it is going ahead
• Kindly note that the jump from the top of the tower may take place before or after your indoor skydiving, please check with the supplier at the time of booking
• In the unlikely event of a DVD being unavailable due to circumstances beyond the control of the supplier, no refund or alternative will be offered
• Public Liability Insurance is included, along with Personal Accident Insurance of up to £50,000 and Cancellation Insurance of up to £500, for the voucher holder. Details will be enclosed within your gift pack
• Disabled access is available to the building, lift and disabled toilets. Access to the viewing gallery is width restricted but the action can still be viewed via video link in the lounge area

Restrictions

• Minimum age is five years. Parent's discretion is advised, as a child needs to be able to understand and follow instruction. Under 18's will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to read and sign an acceptance of risk form on their behalf
• Maximum weight is 19 stone
• Kindly note that participants will be able to fly together in the chamber subject to weight compliance and similar ability. If the weight and ability of each participant are too dissimilar you will fly separately in the two final sessions (one session each). This will be determined on the day of the experience
• You need to be reasonably fit to participate in this experience. You will not be permitted to participate if you are pregnant, have ever suffered a dislocated shoulder, serious back or disk problems, have any freshly stitched wounds, Osteoporosis, any bone illnesses, heart problems, are wearing a hard cast or are under the influence of alcohol or non-prescribed drugs
• This experience involves heights and a 10 metre ladder climb. You will be secured to a safety rail via a body harness
